Tired of not sleeping?

Do you ever toss and turn even though you are tired? Have you experienced not being able to sleep because you are too stressed and too worked up over something and nothing seems to work?

If you have you know as well as I do that sleep is paramount to your health and for you to live a healthy life. As I have mentioned in a previous post I started having problems sleeping already in my early twenties. It became a real problem after about 6 years and by then my sleep cycle was totally out of balance. This meant that even when I wasn’t stressed I couldn’t really rest and sleep. It became part of me and I thought it was something I’d have to deal with the rest of my life. Also, I heard so many others who had similar problems I took for granted it was something most people struggled with and I had to learn to “work around it”. How I thought I’d be able to do that I have no idea!

2009 I went bankrupt with my first business, a cafe. I had worked non-stop, but also slept very little for almost 3 years. I was completely exhausted but still could not sleep. Now of course I was just tired all the time. I slowly began to realize that I needed help.

I had tried everything possible, everything except sleeping pills. Nothing helped. Eventually a friend of me urged me to try a herbal based multi vitamin. I really didn’t have high hopes for it to work, but already after ten days I began to sleep full nights! After 3 months I finally had a somewhat balanced sleep cycle and now, after three years, I can always sleep, stressed or not!

Nutritional status is crucial to how our body works! In an earlier post I wrote about magnesium and how it can effect our sleep. Also vitamin B is essential. But this is not all. I recommend you to try a multi vitamin as the balance of all the nutrients is important, not only to add magnesium and vitamin B.

If you suffer like me from sleep deprivation and have tried “everything” and nothing helped, then find a really good herbal based dietary supplement to help you. Make sure it is well researched and that all the ingredients are listed on the package.
