What Omega should I choose?

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about the importance of Omega 3. One thing I didn’t mention was which Omega to choose. There are so many different choices on the market that it can be difficult to know what to choose. The vegetable kind of Omega 3 is less potent than the one from fish or krill. It’s important that the oil you choose is purified from toxic impurities. I highly recommend Omega 3 that comes from Krill.

    Can you explain why omega 3 from Krill is superior to what I get in chia or flax seeds? I discontinued omega 3 from krill when I started the chia seeds. Did I make a mistake?

      Great question! Chia is one of the most potent vegetable options. However, chia, flaxseed and other vegetable-based omega sources contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), not DHA and EPA, the two essential fatty acids we need. It is shown though that ALA can be converted into EPA and DHA in your body, but only in very small amounts (about 10 percent). For this reason, I would recommend you to take krill based Omgea3 unless you are strict vegetarian.
