Protein is the building blocks and really important. The protein is built up by amino acids and some of them are essential, which means the body can’t produce them itself, but we need to get it through our food. More about protein and what it is here.
Personally I like to get my protein mainly through foods and then a mixture of plant based and animal based proteins. Most of us do eat enough protein, but for those of us who workout more might need to add a little extra to our diet.
